Hi guys!!! I am back from an amaaaaaazzzzzing weekend in Dallas at Create + Cultivate and it was so incredibly cool getting to meet some of you, chat, and connect!
But, before I recap the event, I have to make a huge, important, life-changning announcement: I finally joined Snapchat.
Yaaaaaaasss! I was highly resistant for months because it seemed annoying to me, but my gf Ali forced me this weekend, and I’m kinda obsessed already. It’s so fun! I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’m learning! Are my snaps totally lame? What’s “cool” snap etiquette? Tell me. I need help. And please come follow me there @theblawnde!!!
We arrived in Dallas on Friday and the first event of the weekend was a cocktail hour at The W followed by a gorgeous, intimate speaker dinner. Some of my favorite blogger friends were there and it was fab to be surrounded by so many awesome girls.
The next morning we slept in and had breakfast at the hotel before heading over to the event at Lofty Spaces. The decor was beyond cute and there was a beauty bar, pop up shops, and two stages for speaker panels. We watched some panelists speak on the stage outside and cruised around to check out all of the cute little rooms in the space before heading inside to the main stage for my panel. The topic was Ladies Killing the Entrepreneurial Game and I was joined by 4 unbelievably inspiring women, including Rachel Ashwell of Shabby Chic. This had special significance to me because she basically outfitted my rooms in entirety from bathmats to sheets to towels to toothbrush holders from ages 16-23. I would literally go to Target and buy one of everything she made so I could periodically change my room decor up if I wanted to. I told her this and that I am obsessed with her and she was nice enough to act flattered instead of creeped out. The panel could not have been more fun and rewarding to participate in and I loved the audience questions at the end! We covered so much ground and shared our experiences and what we’ve learned in our businesses and life in general through choosing an entrepreneurial path. It rocked.
