Hi guys! I am heading out this week for my annual birthday road trip up the CA coast to Santa Barbara, Big Sur, and Napa, then Sacramento for a black tie gala with boyfriend, then LA for one of my best girlfriend’s birthdays + Halloween bash, and finally Cabo for one of my other girlfriend’s weddings! Packing for multiple trips is always a little overwhelming because you have to envision everything you plan to do and organize for different climates and activities over a span of a couple weeks. Whenever I have to pack like this, I try to think of my absolute base staple pieces first and throw accessories and fun tops/dresses in the mix as needed to avoid overpacking. The base staple pieces are the pieces you can wear several times for casual or dressier occasions and that cover your bases for a few outfits on your trip. On a recent trip to Fashion Valley, I popped into Bloomingdale’s and discovered my new favorite basic staple pieces – Spanx leggings.
So, I’m not typically a huge legging fan outside of yoga. I always opt for skinnies over leggings in going out scenarios because leggings tend to look lounge-y and too casual IMO. BUT! I just found the most amazing Spanx leggings that are designed to look like jeans, leather pants, velvet pants, and knit pants, but are the most comfortable, flexible, flattering, suck-you-in leggings…that don’t look like leggings. I will be packing the leather ones to wear for date nights with heels and a sexy button down or silky top, and in the daytime with boots and a chambray button down or chunky sweater. It’s so nice to have one pair of pants that meet so many needs on a trip, and are so comfortable and stylish!
Leggings: SPANX | Sweater: IRO (similar here, here, here, here, here, here and here – gotcha covered lol!) | Boots: Isabel Marant (similar here and here) | Bag: Chanel
Do you like wearing leggings?
