Miami Swim Week

July 23, 2015  //  Travel

Cheerio from London!! I am so happy to be back in one of my favorite cities in the world for a couple days before heading to Florence and the Amalfi Coast! Things have been a bit crazy lately because I moved into a new place right before leaving for Miami last week for my first ever swim week! If you’re not familiar, swim week is basically like fashion week, but for swimwear. I went to lots of shows, afterparties, brunches, lunches, and events and also the trade shows where brands showcase their 2016 collections to buyers. It was so interesting to see the shows and everything that goes into putting them on and it was beyond fun to see the new stuff hitting the market for 2016 that had me seriously lusting! Miami is the perfect backdrop for swim week because it’s just a sexy place. There’s a nightlife scene that feels very European because you don’t think about dinner until 9 or 10 and then you go out at 12 or 1. We had a couple crazy nights up in da clubs followed by a couple beautiful beach days soaking up the Miami sun, frequently dipping in the ocean to cool off. It was an action packed 5 days, so here are a bunch of pictures of what we were up to…

Although I was able to get some sun and fresh air at Mackinac Island ! You should check it out some time because its a relaxing get away without cars and noises around.

What a fabulous Miami show, fashion (especially that Saint Laurent bag – I always have to point out that gem), and beach time! And now you’re in London – definitely awaiting your recap on this European adventure as it unfolds and you have time to post 🙂 I haven’t been to Florence in over 9 years, so I can’t give any recommendations; so I’m looking forward to seeing which places you recommend afterwards. Even though you’re on-the-go, I’m hoping that it’s all super fun with lots of relaxation time.

Happy Friday and cheers to exceptional traveling! X

P.S. – as per our emails; just wanted to let you know that I’ve been feeling way better lately. Can’t thank you enough for your support and advice, Annie!

The Amalfi coast and positano are sooo gorgeous! As I’ve probably mentioned, I went to high school in Rome and Amalfi was always a favorite weekend getaway. My rec is buy a chilled bottle of wine from a local shop and sit on the pier to watch the sunset 🙂 the lemons there are incredible and their limencello is like none you have ever tasted – so delicious and lemony and fresh and not full of excess crap. If you have a car, I strongly recommend driving along the coast from positano to Amalfi and stopping frequently to breathe in the amazing views! Enjoy! XO

Florence is my favorite city in Italy and the Amalfi coast is just… dreamy paradise!

I highly recommend checking out the original Santa Maria Novella perfume house which has been in operation since 1612! You can tour the perfumery and experience all their amazing beauty products. http://www.smnovella.it

For a fashion experience that will make you drool… and that will also make you feel cultured- swing by the Gucci Museum. http://www.guccimuseo.com/en

    Have a blast!!!!

Ahh have the most amazing time in Italy! I was just there last summer. Even though I’ve been several times it just never gets old – definitely one of my favorite countries to visit. In Florence, the rooftop bar here is great for drinks and views of the city! http://www.hotelbaglioni.it/

So excited for your trip! My husband and I just got back from a little European adventure and one of my favorite things that we did was go to Michelangelo Point in Florence (I think they call it Piazzale Michelangelo). It is up on this hill that gives you the most amazing view of the entire city. One of the most memorable moments of the trip for sure. And it’s pretty close, you can take a bus or taxi. Enjoy your trip! The Amalfi Coast is going to be amazing!

Seriously, how did I just discover your blog? I am obsessed. Do you have a recipes section? I am learning so much more about healthy eating and of course I am obsessed with Suja juices. Have fun on your trip. Can’t wait to read some more!
